Public Transport
From Sofia, take the line 69 bus to Tsareva mahala. From there, you will need to find local transport to Yarlovo, as bus 69 only goes past Zheleznitsa, leaving a significant distance to Yarlovo (about 17 km). Връх Ушек, rising to 1226 meters, is situated in the southeastern part of Vitosha Mountain, approximately 12.4 km south of Cherni Vrah. The peak lies on the watershed divide of the Krapeshka Klisura and Dobri Dol rivers, marking the boundary between Vitosha, Verila, and Golo Bardo mountains.
The area is covered with mixed vegetation, and the summit is bare, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including the Rila range. The international E4 hiking route passes close to the peak's southeastern foothills, providing a marked trail in the vicinity.
To ascend Връх Ушек, one can start from the village of Gorna Dikanya. The route involves walking along asphalt streets and paths through mixed forests, passing old houses and a hunting tower. The hike offers a moderate incline, leading to a junction where one can choose to ascend the 1173m peak Solishte or continue towards Връх Ушек. The path crosses the Klisurata River and follows the Dobri Dol River, eventually leading to the peak.
